The psychologist as warrantor of the missing: aspects of analysis of the demand

Abstract

Absence, Missing and Desire are concepts that we often find in psychological and psychoanalytical literature, frequently in very different theories and in association with concepts and basic assumptions which can also be very far from each other.

The aim of this brief article is to study certain aspects of the psychological work, focusing our attention on certain processes that, according to our hypothesis, can have these concepts as organizers of their evolution.

The concept which, from now on, we will refer to as feeling of missing, assumes, according to us, a fundamental role in the psychological processes that are responsible for the ability of individuals to relate to each other.

On the other hand, the very role of the psychologist can be defined in terms of warrantor of the missing within a theoretical approach that is built on                          the psychoanalytical work of different authors and on the Analysis of the Demand theory by Carli and Paniccia.
