The emotions associated with secrecy and mystery

Abstract

We propose a hypothesis that differentiates the psychodynamics of mystery and that of secrecy. The mystery grounds a socialization whose goal is to establish relationship with the divinity, in all its manifestations and it constructions. On the other hand, the secret organizes the most frequent mode of pursuit of power and establishes a sociality aimed ad excluding and therefore creating the enemy, through exclusion. The mystery has been profoundly transformed from antiquity to the present day. The secret retains it’s function of seeking power without great changes from antiquity to today. An example of this is the transition from twenty-year fascism to today’s fascism.
