Application of Operative Model’s pycho-logos praxis: a case presentation

Abstract

This paper retraces steps taken in previous papers through words and reflections shared so far towards describing application of psycho-logos model praxis to a specific case. On the one hand, the paper presents again theoretical-epistemological reflection that grounds Clinical Psychology on a precise and rigorous definition of operative model that refers to logos as research object. On the other hand, it retraces Clinical Psychologist definition as a professional who, as from logos and making use of logos itself as an operative tool, can generate discursive configurations that are different from the ones expressing clients’ original request. Referring metaphorically to Particle Physics - as a discipline that analyses interactive processes among particles, that is to say matter, like the operative models does with interactions among words – the paper enters into the merits of describing operative praxis application to a specific case. This careful scrutiny allows to penetrate praxis of the proposed model and to provide explanation about the manner in which model application allows Psychologists (first) to master epistemological reflection and (then) have at their disposal tools to operate in the field of interactions – in a scientifically grounded manner.
