Drugs addiction and prison: an empirical study.

Abstract

Our study allows monitoring of inmate drug addicted population into “Ucciardone” Prison of Palermo, during nine months. The results obtained are consistent with the main national and international researches, despite the objective limits due to a small number of samples. The results permitted to obtain a complete evaluation of substances use style and psychiatrics symptoms of inmate drug addicted population. So, we draw some clinical conclusions in relation to therapeutic treatments and rule and meanings of imprisonment experience.
