Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement

Quaderni di Psicologia Clinica is committed to the highest ethical standards at every stage of the editorial process. This statement defines the responsibilities of authors, reviewers, editors, and the editorial board, in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE, publicationethics.org).

Authors' Responsibilities

Authors warrant that submitted work is original, has not been previously published in any form, and is not under concurrent consideration by another journal or publisher. Authors properly cite all sources consulted and obtain the necessary permissions for the use of third- party material. All individuals listed as authors have made a substantial contribution to the conception, execution, or critical revision of the work. Authors disclose any financial, professional, or personal conflicts of interest that may have influenced the research or its presentation. Should significant errors be identified after publication, authors are obliged to notify the editorial team promptly and to cooperate in issuing a correction or, where necessary, a retraction. The use of generative AI tools in drafting or substantially revising the manuscript must be explicitly declared in the Methods section or an editorial note; AI tools may not be listed as authors.

Editors' Responsibilities

The editorial team evaluates submissions solely on academic merit, without discrimination based on gender, geographic origin, institutional affiliation, theoretical orientation, or nationality. The editorial team ensures the confidentiality of the double-blind peer review process throughout its duration. Conflicts of interest between authors, reviewers, and editors are managed by excluding the parties involved from the relevant evaluation. Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions: appeals must include specific grounds, be submitted within 30 days of notification, and will be reviewed by an editor not involved in the original assessment. The editorial team reserves the right to retract published articles in cases of proven plagiarism, undisclosed duplication, data manipulation, uncorrectable errors, or documented ethical violations.

Reviewers' Responsibilities

Reviewers accept assignments only for manuscripts within their area of expertise. They maintain the confidentiality of all materials received and do not use unpublished manuscripts, in whole or in part, for personal purposes prior to publication. They promptly disclose any conflicts of interest to the editorial team and recuse themselves accordingly. They provide substantiated, respectful, and constructive evaluations within agreed timelines.

Plagiarism and Data Integrity

Quaderni di Psicologia Clinica operates a zero-tolerance policy with regard to plagiarism, undisclosed self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, and the fabrication or falsification of data. Manuscripts may be subjected to plagiarism screening at any stage of the editorial process.
